Shrimp

 about 2000 species from Natantia subspecies (Decapoda arrangement of Crustacea class).
 Close relatives include crabs, lobsters and lobsters.


Shrimp 

have a semi-transparent flat body from side to side and a flexible abdomen that ends in a fan-like tail. The appendages are adjusted for swimming, and the antennas are long and large.
Shrimp occurs in all oceans - in shallow and deep waters - and in freshwater lakes and streams. Many species are of commercial importance as food.
 Shrimp length ranges from a few millimetres to more than 20 cm (about 8 inches); the Average size is around 4 to 8 cm (1.5 to 3 inches). Larger individuals are often called shrimp.
